Boating and Baghdad duty

All,
Just joined the forum, because I'm a die-hard boater but am stuck on a one year tour here in Baghdad. I would absolutely love if anyone could send any video (DVD or CD, tapes melt in the 137 degree heat) of boating.

My address is:
CPT Robert Elliott
HHD, 95th MP BN
APO AE 09342

Shipping is the same as you'd pay to send something to New York. Keep up the great website! HOOAH!

Kent,
If you could send something that'd be awesome! It doesn't have to be anything outrageous, it could be video of anything with water and boats and it'd thrill me. A home video of a boat dock, anything...

If anyone even took digital pictures with a sign or something that says "we support our troops" I could post it in the common areas of the Company and I'm sure that the soldiers would love it.

I tried to attach a picture but the connection here is way too slow! Take care, and I wear my vest and helmet all the time! :hothead:

I am also over here. I'm located outside of Baiji at a powerplant. I feel your pain bro. I went home for two weeks and now I'm here for another 60 days. It totally sucks, but its work.

Any pictures to [email protected] would be cool. I'll have to check out the radio show if I get time.

Baiji? Couldn't find it on the map, are you north or south? Working for KBR? Those guys get $100K/yr to drive a truck over here and their mechanics make MORE.... Damn I'm in the wrong line of work! (Just joking, I wouldn't have it any other way. What other job can you work all day and spend most of the night with 100 degree weather filling sandbags for mortar protection?) :)

Thanks for all your support and thoughts, by God it means more than you'd realize....

I got a deal - for anyone who sends video I'll send you some Iraqi money, the old stuff with Sadaam's face. It's worthless counterfeit but looks real enough, you could use it for TP. It was seized in a raid back when the old Iraqi money was still good, people starting counterfeiting businesses that had to be broken up. :blaster:

Re: Boating and Baghdad duty

I checked and my email account didn't show any. You can burn video clips onto a normal CD, doesn't have to be DVD.

I've thoroughly enjoyed reading the postings "105 MPH in a 46 w/twin 1200's". I can't imagine going that fast on the water. Since I'm stationed in Germany I did drive to work everyday on the Autobahn and set the cruise in my Mustang at 120 MPH. It didn't seem odd at all to drive that fast but you do feel like crap when someone wizzes by at 150 or better in a Benz or Porche.

Gdftha good website! Great pictures, the water is unreal there!

Speedgirl, if you would put them on CD that'd be cool!

Thanks and take care!

Rob

Re: Boating and Baghdad duty

Hey Rob, on behalf of all "right thinking" Canadians I salute you for being there also. Many Canadians are upset that our goofy Liberal government did not send troops to support the U.S. as per normal. Liberals were wiped out in western Canada in the recent elections partly as a result of that. Unfortunately the goofy Liberals are still in control nationally.

Does anyone know of a trick to email windows media (.avi) video files?
