Cuda, My whole set up loaded might hit 6500lbs....I've heard so much about this VW I had to take a look. I must say the inside is like a Jag or BMW interior. The Ford is like running around in the work truck after I drop the boat. Hell, I'm just testing the waters for now. That V10 tubo deisel there talking about has 500lbs of torque. I think thats gonna be in the mid 50k range.

I bought the GMC as an interim, until I see how the V10 diesel pans out. I needed to get through the summer/fall without issues, then look around.

I can tell you why the Touareg stops so well. It has six piston Brembo front calipers and four piston Brembo rear calipers. It is rated to tow 7700 pounds and 616 pounds of tongue weight. The reason for the big dollar hitch is that it is designed to be part of the vehicles rear bumper system which can save you in a bad accident. If you buy the air suspension option it has 11.5 inches of ground clearance and can go up a 45 degree incline. It is a cool vehicle if you need an everyday driver that can also tow a big load. So how do I know all this stuff????? I run a V.W. dealer service dept.

Love the toureg concept, just with all the options I want, the price is a little high for me. I'll stick with my SS for now.

But glad to hear it can tow well!

I dunno. I have been towing things my whole life and traveling the country with a motocross team towing with everything from motorhomes to loaded duallys. 100 mph is sorta silly.......even on the alley. Stuff happens plus there are way too many stupid people here on our Fla roads. my $.02
