Who builds the best jackplate?

I was looking for a high quality Jackplate. The cooks (CMC) is slipping on one side. The plate slips 1/32-1/8 of an inch. I have 300 x's on a Skater 32. The Jackplate will not take heavy Offshore use.

I was very pleased with a Bob's Machine Shop jackplate I had a few years back. Only ran a 115 Mariner, and didn't run offshore, but it was very well built, with nice extruded rails, etc.

I haven't used a CMC offshore, but I've used several.

I would expect that better clamping force would solve your problems. Buy FINE THREAD clamping bolts an inch longer than what you currently have. Have some extra thick clamping washers made (appx 3/8 thick). I would say there would be no way it could move with that kind of clamping pressure.

The other styles of plates I am familiar with still use a similar 4 bolt clamping method. Whether they use a central cable style lift or a side bolt screw lift, the securing force is still left to the side clamps alone. That's going to be your issue.
