Re: How much does added weight effect your speed ?

Assuming that you add the weight in the "right" place, that's about right. Example, 4000 divided by 400 = 10. Sq. root of 10 =3.16. 107 x 3.16 = 338k. 400 HP is an example. As HP goes up, "k" comes down.

4200 divided by 400HP = 10.5. Sq root = 3.24. "k" stays the same. 338 divided by 3.24 = 104.3 mph. God, it's still early. P.S. the "stature" in the original message is statute. I told you it was early!

Based on your erudite and convincing answer, I am erecting a statute in your honor on my front lawn....... someone stole the elf.

A simpler rule of thumb is:

measure your speed via GPS......

While proceeding, throw a 200 lb person overboard.

Check GPS for any speed differential.

If none is found go back and pickup your passenger.

If a significant increase is noted

Let someone else pick him up.

T2x....... :)

My 31 warlock is unaffected by weight. With the wife and I it goes about 95 if I want :D With the wife and I and a couple of friends it still goes about 95, I just have to give it more throttle :D With the wife and I and four friends and full tanks and two ice chests it runs about 95 also. I just have to give it more gas and maybe trim it a little :D Hell, my boat always runs about the same
