New Boat Choices
We would like any ones opinion on what type of boats we could look into/buy. I know this site is geared toward offshore racing type stuff, but I figured I would see what could come out of this. We currently have a 26 SeaRay OV and we really like the 31 SeaRay Sun Sport, and would like to stay this size or smaller like 28. We have seen a boat made by Mariah but never heard of them, but like the layout. We want something still sporty, but has some amenities of home, but definitely not a cruiser, because we still like to have fun with her. The biggest thing is to have a cabin with a separate head and running water.
Any input by you guys would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :) :) |
Re: New Boat Choices
Take a close look at the Formula Sun Sports.

Re: New Boat Choices
Yea... I agree. Formula 28SS is a good combo of cruise and sport.
Not sure about the separate head. |

We did not forget about yours! We really like it and want it! We are just looking around and also waiting for someone to take our present boat off our hands. We can not do anything till we get rid of our present boat and by then yours might be gone, but not forgotten. Beleive me when the time comes we will be asking if it is still available. Re: New Boat Choices
Mariah went out of business just a few years ago. Check this thread. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...ariah+business
Their biggest boat I believe was the 30 footer which came in a closed and open bow mid cabin model. Big boat with single drive, so it wasn't the fastest thing out there. Pretty good quality boat. Here is a 2001, but only has the 7.4, this boat really needs the 502. http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listi...canyachtsales& If your towing, the searay 31 sunsport, 28 Chapparall, 29 powerquest, 28 formula ss, Regal 29 sport are wider than the legal 8'6" towing limit. Then again, this isn't a concern to some people. We've always been looking for something with cabin accommodations and the boats I list are great, but we tow so they got crossed off the list. If your towing, almost seems like you have to go with a performance boat since most hold to the 8'6" beam. To get great accommodations on a performance boat like your looking for, you really have to get into the 30+ range. As someone mentioned, the Sonics have a usable cabin. Also the Velocity 32 has a nice cabin with enclosed head. Enclosed heads are tough to come by in the performance arena in this size range. Active Thunder also has them in the 28 and 32. Baja has them in the 302, but there is NO head room in the head, more like a gear closet. Envision is another boat that comes to mind. Getting into the 35' class, you can get betting pickings.... Good luck. |
Re: New Boat Choices
