Boat Insurance
I am shopping around for insurance for a boat that I dont have yet
Anyway..just for sh!ts and giggles I called my isnurance company (State Farm) and gave them a few different examples of boats that I wanted quotes on. Currently they have my 28 classified as a 600hp runnabout that has a tops speed of 50 there was no classifiacation for high performance..although the underwriters know exactly what kind of boat it is.
So I start giving her an example and for starters...runabout will have to be used again as the classification and their computer wont doesnt have enough spaces to enter more than a 3 digit horsepower then my agent flipped out when I told her a top speed of 75mph... at this point I have my agent so lost and confuzed that she cant even bein to give me a quote
So my question to all of you running boats with a thousand or more horseys with speeds of 70 or more....who are you using for insurance and are you pleased with them??

Re: Boat Insurance
I used to use Worldwide but found a tad more value (same money) with Total.
I would shop them both and let them quote against each other. The reason I used them was that if I needed to put in a real claim there would be no hassle they specialize in HP boat insurance NOT your flooded basement.
Try putting in a real claim (replacement or liability) with your $300.00 a year State Farm policy it's not going to happen.

Re: Boat Insurance
I still function well for an old man as BOB(BrokenOld Boat) will find out at renewal time.I will insure some boats older than 10 years on a case by case basis.
