How much trade difference between 95 Top Gun and 03 Gladiator?

Thinking about taking a really clean, fresh water, 95 Top Gun with 500's and bravos, approx. 350hrs on a myco for my 03 Gladiator with side by side 500's on a Myco. My boat has under 50hrs. How much difference in price do you think is fair?
Thanks!

ok mat heres the scoop, your gladiator is worth about 200,000 to 210,000 depending what you have have in it. a top gun in the range your talking bout will be about 115,000 to 120,000. 120,000 being on the high side. boat beter be super nice with some extra love in there.

to be honest with ya, dont know why you would stray from what you were doing. you were on your way to setting up a very nice rig, for a few extra dollars. you went from having a super nice ride to a stock top gun. this is one of the reason why im doing up my cafe racer, not too many of them out there and when im dont with what i want to do, ill have the only one with my set up. in your case the' re not very many older guns out there with big power and some #6s. very cool in the cig world. in my opinion, and im sure same goes for the rest of the cig gurus, do up your older gun with 800's or 750's and some #6s, with a new interior and dash. now you have the boat you want, the power you want, and you wont be so itchy to trade up for a good long while. stick with your plan, its a good one.... dave

First thing you need to decide what type of boat you want. Just as an observation, I kind of liken the Gladiator to a "sports car" type of boat, great at getting from Point A to Point B.

The "Gun" on the other hand can be a much more "versitile" boat, with overnight capabilities due to the sheer difference in the cabins.

In the rough stuff, few boats can even come close to those older guns, they are sheer wave crushers.

If I found myself in your position, I would take the extra money and upgrade the "Gun", you would end up with a more "individualized" boat. Go with a good engine builder and up the power and drives. I always personally appreciate more when someone has done the best with what they have, irregardless of what that might be.

The lowest price I have seen a side by side pleasure Gladiator w/500efi's go for is $175, excluding the race Gladiators. The Gun you speak of wouldn't be worth much more than 100 in perfect condition. Thats alot of engine hours, small power, and 9 years old. The 2 boats are going to be worlds apart on speeds too. My buddies Gun with 500's barely runs over 65.

Good luck!

Poker run gun is 100 percent right on the $$,plus you will hate the ride on the older Topgun compared to the Gladiator.

I need a cabin for my pregnant wife. We do most of our boating just cruising at 55mph. I need the room in the cockpit also.

Don't even think about the #6's and big power upgrade on that hull, in addition every dollar spent on the new driveline and modifications is gone. Your equity position will be less than .20 cents on a dollar after 25 hours.

why is everything always about the dollar, why cant it be about putting together the baddest rig. and he is not doing up the 95, he doing up an older race boat that he is getting for the right price. i feel like im sticking up for you mat, lol.... ill call you tomorrow... dave

How can you put a number on a boat that is that old without looking at it? I mean a Cherry '92 is worth more than a beat up '96.....

I always look at the dollar when buying performance. These boats are such bad investments and cash drains, I always try to take the route that would minimize my losses. However, the bottom line is you have to do what makes you happy and that doesnt always make sense. Most of these boats are purchased on emotion.

No,I am not kidding. While these boats are bought on emotion, dont tell me that the majority of buyers dont shop around for the best deal and are not concerned with resale value. All I am saying is that anyone who can afford a boat of this caliber usually has the sense to at least make the smartest purchase that they can, usually trying to minimize their losses before they have even bought their boat.

Can you swing both?

I have the gladiator for romping around and a 32 fever for overnighters.

Sounds like the price on the gun is right for a "second" boat.

Of course I have no kids and none on the way as far as I know:D:D:
