None since New Year's Day. Had an eight week long kidney stone issue and need to swap out my exhaust which I finally started.

Weather in Upstate New York for June/July has been the worst in 50 years. Today's sunny and hot. Was just out on Lake Ontario. Lots of debris floating around after all the rain. Dodged an 8-10 inch tree trunk about 12 ft long twice. Was really moving the first time I saw it. Zero to one foot waves. Season will be winding down so you have to take advantage of days like today.--Lou

That's how I feel This weekend LEOPA poker run, chance of rain all weekend.
Last weekend party on our deck, friends to cold to sit out side, and that was
on July 24. Ok I will quit before I tell you how I really feel...............Donna

Sucky

Started the winter paint project too late and it ran into boating season. Get it out late May and had fun for a few weeks and my little hod rod trusty dusty small block (not anymore) decides to put a vent in the oil pan. Had a 548hp 502 sitting in the garage that was supposed to be a end-of-season swap. Since the 502 was just a carb to pan long block, I had to spend a lot of time on e-bay and in the classified section here. Brackets, accessories etc. Very close now, just waiting on my CMI tails to splash it. A week hopefully.

Oh and.... I posted my as5 off in the tech section duing this swap. Thanks to all who have answered my questions.

Summer? I work 6 days out of the week, and have to do normal stuff on the day I dont like mow the grass, chores around the house, clean out the truck, etc.

Did accomplish a little "tune up" on the boat a month or so ago (engine out, tank out, basically everything apart and cleaned or replaced)

Hope to get out saturday afternoon.

Re: Summer So far?

It has been the Summer of Mitch :) 80 hrs to date, not one problem to keep me away from the water, clean bilge, it has been great, There are always a few things to do during the week....like boat more. Now the gas bill on the other hand...over $100 a week and more on the weekend makes it a little tough to run 4500rpms but 3500 gets me there and short bursts are ok. :) Overall, no wife or kids keeps me in the pink :) I live 1/4 mile from the ramp and lake MI so I can be on the water in 15min, one day in 10 :)

Re: Summer So far?

Definitely had better here. Started out looking to be the best summer yet, but................blew another outdrive on memorial weekend, followed by a bad motorcycle accident. Then when I get almost well enough to take the boat out, both my outdrives were stolen two days after the bad one had just been fixed :blaster:

Now I am dealing with insurance to see what we can come up with  Hopefully and a big HOPEFULLY I will be running again by the Lake Ozark Shootout :eureka:

We'll see where this takes me. At least I am here to be thankful that I survived the motorcycle accident and the women have been real supportive  :D :drink:

Re: Summer So far?

Much more extreme weather than I can ever remember. No boat this year, just sold ours, now on the hunt for a newer used model. With the price of fuel, good summer to be without a boat. Notice fewer muscle boats out on the water and when they are, they aren't getting on them as much. I don't blame them, dammed EXXON SUCKS!! But, they just reported yesterday record earnings... blame it on the arabs... RIGHT!!! Been out a few times with friends, nailed each time with high winds and big seas or rain. We were just down in Ocean City Md, beatiful week weather wise, but no boat....

Engine is IN! Tonight I'll run it on the hose and top everything off. If I let it run for a while, I may actually double my minutes this year!

Re: Summer So far?

I bought my boat in early January. The motors (525efi's) had 40 hours on them. The boat was 3000 miles away for 6 weeks and 300 miles away for another 6 weeks. As of this weekend, I am showing 120 hours without any mechanical downtime.

I had a fast run yesterday with BG1 and DMAN ... kwb and the Come Fly w/ Me boat got out a little late to run with us.

There's something to be said about spending the extra bucks up front for newer hardware ... not as many lump $um $uprises that consume a lot of fun and hours.

(in my whinyest voice) Ohhh wellllll ... I guess I put a few more hours on it today

:p

Weather has stunk and to make matters worse just tore apart my left shoulder, no wheel arm - no fast rough water.

Re: Summer So far?

Today turned out to be great. I'm kicking at the dock with Come Fly w/ Me(Top Gun 1000 Zul's) and kwb with his Tiger when another buddy shows up with his TG. We got a little Cig thing going on when a new 38 PowerPlay rolls in across the bay .. looks sharp, white deck w/ solid blue sides. Then I turn around, and here comes the 46 RR with the stealth fighter on the side ... WOW ... behind him is a TS Tiger. I called the Cigs over to our docks and had them moore with us ... The RR was SICK. It turns out the owner of the Tiger who keeps it on a lift in Long Beach had National deliver the RR and they decided to run both before they took the Tiger back to Ohio. Of course we wanted to take a run with the RR ... well, the guys were taking their time at the resturant and the Powerplay pulled away. kwb and I figured we should follow the PP out to see how it runs and we would wait outside for the other Cigs to show. The PP didn't make it out the harbor ... he turned off into a residential channel. We went ahead with a run up to Huntington Beach, where they were holding an OP Surfing event ... Come Fly w/ Me had already run up to watch the surfing. On the way up the Boatpics.com heli was flying right on top of us ... kwb and I were running about 40 yards apart hauling butt. While chillin off Huntington we see a HUGE rooster tail coming our way ... oh yeah ... RR had it goin' on. We fired up and intercepted the RR and T/s Tiger and headed north to Long Beach .... holy shizat ... the water was bumpy and boats were flying.

Today was a good day
