I got the same email on my boat. They ended up sending me a counterfeit check for $9500 that I was supposed to cash as a $2500 deposit, and Western Union the remaining $7500 back to them. The sad thing is when you report it to the FBI, they have an autoresponse on how it is basically not their problem and that you should contact your local authorities.

Let' see:

$9500 check
$2500 keep
$7500 return

Yep - That looks like a scam to me!

Re: Is anyone else getting offers to buy their "boatmachine"

If they actually learned English and used some decent spelling and grammar, their scam might be a little easier to fall for....I'm just trying to think of a worthwhile use for the counterfeit check they sent :D

Re: Is anyone else getting offers to buy their "boatmachine"

I recieved one similar to yours.....I like how he refers to my boat as one that probably has a defect.....defect...I'll give him a defect.....

Thank you Rich for your mail. We contacted you mostly because of the profile of your boat from a magazine for boat sales when one my colleagues visited the U.S.A not too long ago. There were adverts for many boats but your boat seemingly new attracted his attention. Even though he thought it probably has a factory defect or something that is why you want to sell it. The tone of your mail and your underlying passion makes us believe we could instead work with you on our project.

Actually myself and two of my colleagues would not mind bringing you into an investment proposal for the purchase and leasing of quality boats to end users. You will come in as a technical partner since you obviously have a working idea of boats.

Think about it and get back to me. We are going to retired soon and will like to invest in something that will carry us through retirement. We believe Tourism is a good place to start. If you think the idea is not a good one kindly let me us know. Even if you do like the option of working with us.

Finally I would like to mention that we are still intreted in your boat, the money for the purchase is a part of the funds for business.

Expecting your reply.

Regards

Re: Is anyone else getting offers to buy their "boatmachine"

Geez, if they are going to try and scam you out of money and your boat, they should at LEAST run a spell check. And then get someone who actually sPEAKS English to proof read their letters!!!! Simply appalling spelling and gramar.

Re: Is anyone else getting offers to buy their "boatmachine"

Thrill, I am sitting at my desk laughing out loud at your reply and that's just NOT a good thing because I work for the head of Psychiatry at a mental hospital. Funny looks from men in white coats are not good. If I could explain why I'm on OSO at work I would show it to them. But since I can't, they will just have to wonder if they should let me go home tonight or not....

Thank you for your interest in my boat machine. I have owned my motorized water crosser for 3 years now. It is powered by twin 500hp piston driven crank turners. It is rigged with Latham drive movers and transmission cable tighteners. It has a Momo direction selector. Electronic include a CD spinner sound machine and a Global Positioning System satellite communicator. You may transport my mechanical fiberglass floater on its Myco trailer vessel holder. If you are still interested, please send $90,000 in ninety thousand dollar increments. Thank you.
