Wrong Sea Knife, I was refering to the one that look like a dart with a triangular flat bottom and one step. Razor sharp bow and was so bouyant that it would bounce from side to side just idling and go it that direction.

The navigator stood in front of the driver and throttleman about 6 feet from the bow. to direct them which way to go.......

You should have seen Lynnwood's face when Schwebs told him to take it out and see what it would do!

AC....I wasn't referring to the blade shaped wedge of cheese Sea Knife (which had to be towed on plane by the way)...in the picture above..... I was referring to the Aronow Cat.

This thread is confusing enough without you misunderstanding my erroneous placements.

P.S.....I think I have video of the Sea Knife running a "demonstration" at Point Pleasant during the Benihana festivities in 84 or so.... It was called "CanDo" at that time...... "Can Do what?" was the question. The owner/designer claimed that the thin, sharp, stainless steel blade bow would cut through rough water. I asked...with a straight face..... "Like the Stockholm through the Andrea Doria?"..... He nodded eagerly...and Phil Lewis , the cameraman producer, almost hit me with the camera.

Later, I think the guy changed his name to Ocke Mannefeldt.

Poor Lynnwood, Schwebs kept telling him to take that thing out and run it and he kept telling him, it ain't gonna work........Lynnwood finally took it out and bounced off the walls going out about 8 times. Every time it would lean one way it would make a direct course change for the seawall. It truely ran like a penny dropped in a bucket of water.

The peanut gallery never laughed so hard.......later the guy put holes in the step to air the step..............never did he realize it would take on water!

Lynnwood just shook his head and walked off...........I think it still sits down here somewhere in Sarasota by the airport if anyone would like to add to their collection.

Now if you can find a picture of that.........you could put it right next to the flying submarine from Pt. Pleasant!

If I remember correctly it was a non descript boat with 4 or 5 Scott outboards on it and I think it had a 55 gallon drum as a fuel tank.

I think he won the Turtle Award every year. Pulled it with a Chevy II Nova station wagon.

I think one year one of the engines wouldn't start so they unbolted it and dropped it in the parking lot and went racing.

T2x has a better memory then me.........
