You from Jersey? I'm from Jersey. What exit?
Grew up on Barnegat Bay (Toms River/Island Heights). Was driving boats before cars. Really miss those days (err...except winter when we would walk on Barnegat Bay). Have fun! D. Ocean Pompano Beach, FLA |

Nice family of 9 ducks we are raising this summer. They are here every day and now they are much larger. Yes, I clean the pool all the time. |

Grew up on Barnegat Bay (Toms River/Island Heights). Was driving boats before cars. Really miss those days (err...except winter when we would walk on Barnegat Bay). One winter Silver Bay was soooo frozen a couple of buddies and I rode our minibikes all over the bay, from one side and one end to the other. |

I'm not sure of your age(s), but I lived in Toms River (Water St.), Silver Bay (Silver Bay Dr.) and Snug Harbor (Matso Drive) btwn 1962 and 1980. My girlfriend lived in Beachwood and since I wasn't old enough to drive, I'd visit her by boat. The first place I lived as a child was on the Toms River in one of those old captain's houses (Water St). Had a lot with/dock across the street. My earliest memories are of the boat my dad had and the fishing trips we would take all over Barnegat Bay. I attended Toms River High School North and eventually switched over to South where I graduated in 1980. Immediately joined the Marines and went to Calif. Haven't been back since. Small world, ey? D. Lucky,
Did your dad race "Berks Law"? I use to see that boat occassionally on the same lagoon where I grew up, Stephan Ave, Toms River. Danny O, You might not recognize TR anymore, the population is about 100,000 now. Bob G |

Danny O, You might not recognize TR anymore, the population is about 100,000 now. Bob G Toms River was a nice place to be a kid in the 60's & 70's (pop. 60k when I left in '80). Riding dirtbikes, racing around in boats and building hot rods in the garage with Springsteen on the radio... "Nice place to be from", as I tell everyone. D. Ocean Miami, FLA |

Re: Floating Report Heading to Jersey
Danny O,
It's a small world. Brian Patterson's family rented my parents house. My sister and brother knew him well. I've known Walter for years-he recently got married, had a baby (I'm not sure which was first the wedding or baby) and bought a house on Aldo. My father got transferred to Albany, but I use to spend the summer with my grandparents on Stephan-next door to the Patersons. You would probably know my grandfather-all the kids knew him as 'Howie", he was very popular with the neighborhood kids. Did you know the Wingenders, or my brother/sister Debbie & Kevin? I ended up buying a house on Stephan 9 years ago. Where did you live? Lucky, I didnt understand your response-was that your dads boat? |

The name "Wingender" doesn't sound familiar, but "Debbie & Kevin" do. What is your age? Sounds like you may be younger than I. I lived at 166 Silver Bay Dr., but we kept our boat down on Stephan and then a few blocks over, until moving to Snug Harbor where we had our own dock. Tell Walter I said hello. Can't reveal my actual name on the Internet, but if you mention Brian Patterson and "that other four-eyed kid" they used to hang with, he'll know exactly who I am (girlfriend's name was "Martha"). I sent Walter a postcard a few years back, but never heard anything. Best regards, homeboy! D. Ocean Pompano Beach, FLA |
