engine on the dyno
they ll be duin the first pull tommorow cant wait to see how much hp
blueprinted and tweeked hp500efis expecting 525 to 575 gellner engineering power!!!!! a' la bob russell baby!!! |
Re: engine on the dyno
525hp at 5300rpm!!!
balanced and blueprinted hp500 efi |
Re: engine on the dyno
What mods did you do?I am going to do mine this winter :)
|
Re: engine on the dyno
no mods just true blueprint, extreme balance and good parts put together well... after the boats running well up the rev limiter and maybe mod the map for a little more... maybe 10-20 hp... the hp numbers were still climbing stong and he feels 5400rpm is NO problem with his internal build
|
Re: engine on the dyno
oh yeah and w/ the crank balanced torque WAY up too
|
Re: engine on the dyno
Gelner huh? let me know what HP you turn.
I've never had a motor built with out total balance, Thats like checking tolerances, you just do it. |
Re: engine on the dyno
You there to watch? I don't know why, but watching a big hp motor on a dyno gives me goose bumps. Especially when the guy says "That one rattled the windows" :D
|
Re: engine on the dyno
tomorrow running engine #2... tbc
|
Re: engine on the dyno
Shah mat, when i watched my 540 on dyno under boost it was hard to imagine it in boat wound out!
|
Re: engine on the dyno
And.........
I get bigger goose bumps when the guy say's "That one rattled the neighborhood's windows 5 miles away" :D :D |
Re: engine on the dyno
How a bout a dyno sheet . I would like to see the curves please.
] Rob |
Re: engine on the dyno
curves? no curves!!! just flat big torque
|
Re: engine on the dyno
ahat rpm was it at and what was peak torque
|
Re: engine on the dyno
need to get the sheets but i think peak tq was 590
does that sound right? |
Re: engine on the dyno
wow thats great
I had 560 hp at 5500 rpm with peak torque being 580 at 4500 rpm my motor went ovrer 500 ft-lbs of torque at 3500 rpm and stayed over 500 all the way up |
Re: engine on the dyno
dont know if we're gonna spin em THAT high!!!
maybe 5400revs for about 535hp i figure w/ my 30p labbed i hope to see 85 |

does that sound right? All ya did was rebuild the motors? No mods? I am going thru mine this fall, up grade cams ,tappets, springs.etc.what all can you do to a 500efi to get more power ,besides the flame arrestor and computer. How much power are the getting out of them?? If there is not much improvement in power with bolt on parts Kinda of thinking about putting blowers on it at the same time. Rob Rumor is*** I heard sterling was getting around 750hp on there SBI 500efi motors that are supose to be stock apearing.Stroking the crank ,cam, rasing the cr?? |
Re: engine on the dyno
get brodix heads and youll see 550 easy
|
Re: engine on the dyno
550 not enough.
I see a lot of people using the dart pro ones cnc ported .Still has a small runner and good flow. Just have to get the water jackets coated. |
Re: engine on the dyno
then just call innovation and get some 650 efis
|
Re: engine on the dyno
took her out today... first time this season... after a good hour of dealing w ODNR at the ramp... get this my stainless steel fire ext. dont count because the clamp around them blocks the uscg approved sticker!!!... so off to the store, well after fiddling w/ things and clamps and hoses were off ( after i convinced the officer i had " inline mufflers" in the exhaust)... man does that torque make a difference accel is AWSOME... tomm ill see if i can do a wot pass and get top speed #s
