Mid 1980s P&D 24' - Any Info?

Wasn't sure where else to post this question..

Does anyone know about the 24' P&D go-fast boats produced in the mid 1980s? What is the quality of the hull construction, how do they handle, any known problems, etc.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

No, there is one for sale near me. It looks great, but I am unfamiliar with the boat. I'm looking for anyone with any knowledge of the line.

It seems like there been a ton of discussion on the P&D in the past. A search might turn up some results.

Re: Mid 1980s P&D 24' - Any Info?

i owned one a few years back. it was a 1977 24 ft. there were a lot of people splashing that hull back then. it's only a 7 ft beam but was never an issue with me. my racing partner knows the history a little better than me. P&D was the initals of the two guys who owned the company. there was also a 25 ft version that they made. i thought the hull construction was good although the bottom has a bit of a hook in it. i sold my half to my racing partner who built a 650hp 540 and went 78mph on gps. he straightened the bottom then sold it before he finnished putting it back together. the new owner finnished putting it back together and ran 88 mph on gps with the wrong prop. handles the rough pretty good for a 24 footer. :)
