Re: Chevy truck info wanted
i have 98 1500 with a 350 voretc. it puked tranny around 95k miles. Since then i put like 30k on the new tranny and seem sok. I know the 350 vortec had aprpblem withte intake gaskets they are WAY to thin and fail prematurely. MIne went and i had to pull the intake manifold and install new ones. I'mnot sur ei the 454 vortec had teh same problem or not.

R Addiction,
I'm looking at dually's. Kind of scared of the 6.5 diesel. Probably only use it 5000 miles or so a year anyway. It sure would be nice to go new, but I would rather dump the extra coin into the boat.

I put 100K on my 96 Chevy Dooley 454 auto. Towed more miles than empty. Never had tranny problems. C1500 had a 4L60 trans, C3500 has a 4L80, different transmission. Never had intake gasket problems either.

Re: Chevy truck info wanted
I'd say 10 to 15,000. I'd like to find something like DanB's truck shown above. Would like to find something with 75K miles or less.
