yadda yaddda yadda Fountain rocks. I'm renaming my dog Fountain. And it will make him run so much faster. mc LOL, thats about the funniest thing ever said on this board... Yo folks, it's called Sarcasm, get over it!!! |
Re: Kilo Time!!!! Outerlimits vs Fountain
[QUOTEWere you posting the same thing a few months ago when OL had a few hundred more HP but only went a couple clicks faster.... The GPS SBI thing....[/QUOTE]
hmmm.... now lets not forget about the circumstances under which OL "CLAIMED" to have gone a few clicks faster. The CEO of OL and his Co-pilot go out for a joyride, come back from their ride and say nothing for 5 days, watch Reggie Fountain do a properly timed and documented speed. Only then five days after the fact OL announces to the world that almost a week ago they set a New World Record for the Fastest V Bottom in the history of Mankind - and all he has to offer up as evidence is their on-board GPS. I said it then and I say it now, GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK. That had to set a new low in the history of motor sports to claim a World's Record based on a GPS documented Joyride. Having said that, I have no doubt that Outer Limits has the capability to surpass the 171 mph mark - and will probably do so in the near future. I just hope that use the good sense to properly document it in a legitimate event before they again claim to Hold the World Record. |
Re: Kilo Time!!!! Outerlimits vs Fountain
Congrats to Fountain. Wish the OL hadn't broke, not because I like one over the other but because things would've been SO MUCH more entertaining on here. :argue:
I agree that the only real test is to put "sealed 525's" in the boats, then run the kilo's. I have a funny feeling that SKATER would smoke them both in that test.  |
Re: Kilo Time!!!! Outerlimits vs Fountain
Racecrafter has run his own motors in Sorcerer (40' Skater) on alot of poker runs, one of which I was in. They have consistently ran good thru many poker runs across the country. I don't know what happened this time.
I cannot understand why OL would not have re-built with 27hrs at a 30 hr preferred build time-frame. They need to be done soon and with all that is on the line, doesn't make sense to me. http://www.racecrafters.biz/ |

Re: Kilo Time!!!! Outerlimits vs Fountain
Personally, I am more impressed with someone like Joe Skrocki. He runs out there almost every week-end with production sealed 525 Merc's and XR drives.
And this is what 95% of us run as pleasure boats. Now this is the real world. And as for starting a new class of boats to run the KILO, why not bring the old heavy slugs with non-stepped huals weighing in at 10,000+ pounds with a 525 HP rule. Now this is realisitc. And as for outerlimits--Who the h*** would come to an event like this without back-up equipment??? That is just plain STUPID. They totally humilated themselves and this will always be hanging overthem now. Let me guess, for the next KILO, OL will have a lighter hull, more horsepower, hidden nitrous in the boat (remember Darrell Alderman-pro stock drag racer?) Don't get me wrong, I am in a neutral position here. I own neither an OL or Fountain. But it is what it is. P.S. Sterling motors---excellent motors, but over-hyped. :argue: |

Jon Excellent point radioboy! |
Re: Kilo Time!!!! Outerlimits vs Fountain
