The lovely state of NY sales tax auditer.. what a bunch of Maroons..
got a letter in the mail yesterday saying that I owe the state of NY almost 6 thousand dollars for sales tax on the vessel I purchased. And since I hadn't paid them the money within 20 days of purchase, I owe them an additional 700.00 in penalties plus an additional 150.00 in interest, on the sales tax money they hadn't received.....
I'm gonna call the morons and ask them how the hell do you suppose the dept. of motor vehicles gae me a valid NY state registration sticker and the numbers to put on my hull ??
Then at the bottom they say if this happens to be a mistake and you did pay sales tax,, send us written proof and the canceled check... Pisses me off I had to pay that kind of money in the first place,, now I gotta find the canceled check and mail them the proof.. idiots..
