Well we couldn't find a virgin to sacrafice last night, so the weather looks crappy. Joe, I will meet you at Gulf Harbor by 9:30.

I'm riding with Joe in his 42 Tiger, very bright paint job, keep an eye peeled for us and bring your rain gear.

Rags called me about noon asking if I was at the run. I said hell no! I'm on a jobsite in Orlando sweating my azz off. It was a full monsoon here in Deland this morning, but by the time I got to Orlando, it was clear. Started to cloud up just before we left to come home.

Addiction and I made the run up and found only one Formula at Eggmont. At least the people in the Formula made the effort. I know it started out rainy, but it was a pretty decent afternoon. His Tiger just crushing those six foot swells. I couldn't believe that no one else made it. I did hear a rumor of severe partying at a certain "Grand Reopening" last night. Could that have had something to do with it??????

Six foot swells do not mix well with cats.

Frank, I hear ya. They don't go real well with my little 311 either.
The water was pretty snotty in general, with those swells mixed in just to keep Joe's throttling hand from getting too bored. Although by Tampa, the water calmed down quite a bit, still had the swells though. Going south by the time we got back down to Lido Key the water was snotty again. In my boat I'd been running, oh maybe forty, hanging on for dear life, with the bow tabbed way down. We were just crushing those swells at 70 effortlessly. We launched off a couple times and "hangtime" seemed forever, then we'd just stomp them and keep on truckin'.

As we approached the the Venice Jetties we saw about a 35 foot offshore boat heading out towards New Orleans, standing the boat skywards time after time after time. We were both just watching him. Then after about two maybe three minutes, he was dead in the water. Then we saw him turn around and start heading in, at an idle. It was definitely "if you're not careful, you're going to break something" water. But it was fun.
