Duramax vs. Powerstroke, OffroadOnly Tractor Pull
Live Update on last night's events from Washington, NC. Last night was the first annual OffshoreOnly.com Tractor/Pickup Pull Competition. This year's biggest event turned out not to be the Outerlimits vs. Fountain Showdown, but the 3 way competition between John Deer GMC and Ford. What better way is there to spend a Saturday night in North Carolina.
Saturday night's concert shut down the main way through the pits causing the OSO rig to be re-routed into the grass. Thanks to some friendly employees we ourselves burried in the Carolina mud.
After failed attempts by both the John Deer and GMC camps the Ford Powerstroke came through big with a 50+ foot pull, dragging the heavy (29,000 lbs) OSO rig back to the pavement.
Here are some pictures of last night's events. The last photo is the winner of the competition a 19 year old resident of North Carolina who stated "man i've been drinkin Bud since 10am but my ford'll pull anything out the mud".
After the event the winner said "today's competition was a tough one, but the Ducks Unlimited, Browning, Powerstroke, Super Swamper, Ford F-350 really came through for us. The track conditions were really slippery at the start and she had a bita push coming down but the swampers gave us the traction to out-pull them there cheby boys. I really wanna thank my boys here for giving me the liquid courage needed to win today."

The Fountain John Deere couldn't do it and the GMC couldn't, but the Found On Road Dead FORD driven by a drunk 19 year old could. Welcome to North Carolina!

Looks like the GMC was a dually with probably "stock" road tires. The Ford had offroad tires. Doesn't seem like an apples to apples comparison.

that amazes me. Not that the ford pulled it out, but that the tractor couldn't. Everytime we'd go mudding at the farm and get one of the trucks buried, the big Kabota 4wd would pull them right out.
