Hi-Perf. Boaters Be Prepared For Boardings
Last night NY ABC Channel 7 reported that the terrorist's plans for attack on the USA homeland were to be using speed boats. They had plans to carry out an attack on the Prudential building in downtown Newark, NJ using a limo by pulling into the parking garage filled with explosives.
Other plans include speed boats in the harbor area. If I recall correctly, the UN building is on the East River... Just what we needed to hear with the upcoming race on the Hudson which is on the weekend of Sept. 11th. In my opinion, be prepared for boardings anywhere. Be nice to the coasties, they are only doing their job to help protect us all. With the latest intelligence our guys got with the latest captures, I strongly feel they helped stop some of the terrorist's missions. God Bless them! They are doing a great job!!! |

I was thinking the same things when I heard the news, Tim. And, I totally agree; better to cooperate than think they're not doing their jobs!

I'm getting live reports from downtown Manhattan.
Coast Guard RIBs w/ twin 225s, 2 machine guns- 1bow/1stern. There are a bunch of these stopping center consoles and bow riders etc... |
Re: Hi-Perf. Boaters Be Prepared For Boardings
A OSO ball point pen to the first guy that moons one of those ribs. :D

Coast guard, "Stand by to be boarded!"
Me, "Ok, I'll mix ya up a lemon drop!" :D :drink: |
Re: Hi-Perf. Boaters Be Prepared For Boardings
And in June I was only 100yards from the Statue of Liberty and there was not a patrol to be seen. 100 yards could pass very quickly at 60mph+. Especially w/ a bow full of explosives. But then the boat wouldn't run right.
I think you'd spot a bow heavy speed boat pretty easily. |
Re: Hi-Perf. Boaters Be Prepared For Boardings
I would think you could pack a cruiser with much more in explosive then a speed boat

How do you yell "mayday" and "swamped" in Arabic? |
Re: Hi-Perf. Boaters Be Prepared For Boardings
Just run with naked women aboard and in plain view. Couldnt be moslems then right?

Re: Hi-Perf. Boaters Be Prepared For Boardings
I saw the coasties pulling over a lot of Center Consoles this weekend up by me. There we so many boats pulled over yesterday I thought for sure they were going to stop me and give me a noise ticket or something.
I guess it helps having the coast guard medallions my friend in the coast guard gave me. |
Re: Hi-Perf. Boaters Be Prepared For Boardings
Lets not leave our keys in the boats for a while.

Re: Hi-Perf. Boaters Be Prepared For Boardings
WE were boarded in LA harbor, and all I can say is you don't want to mess with the coasties. We have a 52 foot cruiser, and they looked in every place on the boat, and they were all business. Every thing that should be on your boat they will check for, they won't miss a thing. It took us almost an hour before they completed there check on our boat, everything passed, gave us some paper work and told us to keep it on the vessel, and show it to any other coasties that mey want to board. We tried to talk to them well they were on our vessel, no way, all business. Talked to them a short time later on the fuel dock, nice guys, they told us that they had been ordered to board all vessel's, so be perpared.

I still say if our government takes away all of our freedoms in the name of terrorism, then the terrorists win.

They always had every right to board our boats in the past. Now they just have a better reason to. As far as I concerned, they are doing what they are being paid to do. Protecting us. Not taking any freedoms away....... |
