Default 500HP Upgrade for Cyclone

These were a pair of 500 HP Carb Engines we recently freshened for a client. These engines were upgraded with custom cams and valvetrain to match. The heads were massaged and the intakes and carbs were matched up. The engines make 580 HP @ 5600 RPM and 580ft/lbs of torque. The boat that they came from was a new manufacturer to us and when we tested the boat we were impressed with it's performance. The customer claimed numbers in the 110's MPH range. I had never seen a 28ft V-Bottom boat over 100MPH and this stable at speed. This is definitely as shocker. Watch for this guy in the Florida Keys area, It's a Sleeper!!

Give me 30mph gain with an extra 80hp per side and I will be standing in line to have my motors freshened up

Not trying to stir anything up.....but 110 mph seems like a statement that was made after at least 24 beers!

The engines do look sweet. Nice work!!!

Thanks for the kind words on the Saber 28 Cyclone. That particular boat is a former "Powerboat Mag." performance award winner. Glad to see it faster than ever. We too have spoken with the owner and he is pleased with the increased performance of his new engines. They look good on the stand too!
best regards, Saber Marine

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's my old boat and it ran a honest 87.6 mph with just me and 3/4 tank of gas in fresh water (once), always a solid 85 mph boat. I find the numbers hard to believe, but nice work. I can vouch that I never dropped that gps off of a cliff!!!

Nice work and I am glad to see the customer is having fun with my old ride. It is a sweet ride and will take anything you can throw at it.
