Aluminum Trailers?

In the near future, I am going to buy a new trailer. I would like to go with an aluminum one so I did`nt have to worry about painting it in a few years when it starts to rust from gravel chips. I have heard that aluminum trailers flex too much to properly support the hull and that if I intend to do much towing I should buy a steel one. I would like to hear from any of you with first hand experience as to your opinion regarding both.....Thanks

My Top Gun sits on an aluminum Myco. It is the best trailer I have owned.

The Aluminum Myco is a well built trailer $$ But you get what you pay for.

Customer service is another reason I would go with Myco. Bill Tweedy (sp) has always taken care of me. If you have a problem he is easy to get on the phone and will make sure the problem is fixed. That is hard to find with other companies.

Aluminum trailer and salt water = a good thing. Mine has some flex but tows and works great, The Myco trailers seem to be alot more ridgid.

Dude, there are trailers and there is Myco!

I am on my second one and I would not even consider another brand.

They are aluminum, but they are built heavier than most steel trailers.

Mine has 12 bunks under it supporting the boat. The roads are rough and your boat is a big investment. Buy a good trailer.

The Myco makes launching and loading our boat a dream. If you have ever tried to load in a fast current you will really appreciate the Myco.

They are not cheap, but they are worth every penny.

Thanks a bunch guys, I really appreciate your input. Myco is the one that I have been looking at. I know that a cheap trailer is a real pita and not a good deal in the long run. Please keep the opinions coming. It`s going under a 93 Top Gun that has a real nice hull and I intend to keep it that way.

you ought to at least give Bill brasher a call at Hi-tech Marine and look at his trailers ...he is really trying to put out a quality product at a fair price ...he has a new design that is polished and also a lower profile trailer tire ....hell of a nice guy too ...wont hurt to look .....

Re: Aluminum Trailers?

I was just discussing this on another board. There's a company that builds some really nice trailers called Extreme Trailers. They are really into the "bling" factor but build a reliable trailer from what I'm told. And they sure are puuuuurty.

However, they are as much if not more than Mycos. I think that Myco is the best trailer built from what I've seen. And they are good looking as well.
