Check the coast guard web site. You may be ok depending on the tidal surge.
There are coast guard organized flotillas to get boats inland and tied with long lines across canals or inland lakes. THese facilitate the tidal rise above normal.

this one seems to be small and you may be fine where you are. Tie loose lines in case the tidal rise is higher than your lift. Use a line at each cleat leaving plenty of slack. You wouldnt want the boat to be so secure to the lift it holds it under water.

Any chance you can rent a protected dry stack for a day or two? If it is far from the gulf it would probably be okay depending on the height and strength of your lift. However I'm sure there is an OSOer that could help you out with a trailer or something. I wish there was something I could do.

Not sure of the procedure of leaving it in the water???

Do you have a trailer??

If so, I am sure someone here close to you would be willing to tow it to safety for you, if they dont, I Will!!!

I Live In South Florida All My Life So I Survived "andrew" The Best Advise I Can Give Ya Is Put It On A Trailer And Store It In A Dry Storage Place. A Warehouse Would Be The Best. It's Not Worth Taking The Risk Good Luck

Jason,
Get that boat off your lift! You have to move it.

It's not unusual for storm tidal surges to reach 5 or more feet depending on the strength of the hurricane.

Trailer and in door storage is best. If you have to leave it on the lift, tie it down and raised the lift as high as you can get it. Check your insurance policy!!!! My Pathfinder is staying on the lift with rachet tie downs and raised to it's max. Baja is on a trailer at a lot I own off the water. The Extreme is staying indoors down at the shop. Dave Warden
