Will a Avalanche Tow a****
I have a buddy fixing to buy a New 34 Sea Ray and he thinks he can pull it with his Avalanche  . I figure that boat weigh's around 16-18k pounds  . This aught to be a good one to watch.I am bringing my camera :D . He is moving up from a jet ski and had a ski boat once so this will be his first real boat.
I told him he needed a Dually at least and that might not be enough truck. He asked could he put a dually rear end and fenders under his truck to help pull it. What do you think is going to happen ??:D :D :D Rob |

With all due respect, he sounds like a moron. :D :D

Re: Will a Avalanche Tow a****
wouldnt it be easier to get a slip ? gonna need permits to tow a 12 ft beam around all the time.

Re: Will a Avalanche Tow a****
I don't know if it will have trouble towing, but I can guarantee that it will still be an ugly truck!! :D :D

Re: Will a Avalanche Tow a****
this is no chit my dad pulls his 1985 34' sea ray express crusier to and from the marina every year boat sits on a custom four axle trailer. oh yea he uses his 2004 Ford Explorer 4.6L V-8. It actually does a pretty good job! this is on flat roads its pretty neat to see going down the road. I have pictures I will post them later.

Re: Will a Avalanche Tow a****
pulled my buddies bayliner contessa (although it was only a 10 beam) 120 miles...
and also pulled his 42' wellcraft excaliber all the way from Detroit to central minnesota then to duluth. that was with a 1 ton dually. i could'nt imagine pulling a big sea ray 12 beam with an avalanche... :stupid: |
Re: Will a Avalanche Tow a****
I would not want to be on the same road he is when pulling it. I would hate to see a insurance claim get denied when he tries to explain the he is over the max weight by more than 10K lbs. Hope he knows a good transmission mechanic.
