I'm wondering how fast a 1989 Villain IV will run with 454 mags?

That was my guess. I have a friend with 1 that swears up and down that it ran 78 on radar. I LOL every time he says it. He's had motor problems on and off for the past 3 seasons and is finally going with some 496's by the sounds of it. He bet me a C note that it will GPS at 75 minimum, but he's figuring 80. So I win as long as doesn't do 75 or above. I think I'll count that money as in the bank! :)

Milford .. I have '87 with 454s and haven't hit 60 yet. Mine has Alphas ('89 has Bravos), haven't played with prop sizes (ain't worth it), and my engines are not 100% tuned and running puurrrfect yet. I hit 57 on GPS, that's with full tanks and me (245lbs :D ) down hill (wind), with a following sea! LOL It is a beast though :eek: :eek:

78 is in his dreams .... start making plans on how you want to spend that C note hehe ;)

I have a buddy with an 89 Villian with 502's making ~500 hp and it will do 72-73. With 454 mags, maybe 60-62. One hell of a boat though, its very solid in the rough.

Thanks for the replies guys. I told him this weekend what the consesus is and he thinks the C Note is in his pocket. He said all of us that think it will only run in the 60's should put the crack pipe down. :)

You night want to stipulate mph not kph.

Solid boat friend has a 22' Villain III and we beat the snot out of it. a Fast hull on the 22 footer.

I had a 1990 with 454's (330 HP). It ran 62 on GPS and almost 70 on the speedometer.
