I don't know what race some of you were in, but I assure you seas were every bit of 6-8 feet. It was a very rough race. Lots of broken boats.

wow!

Looking at the water in posts 1 & 3 the waves look to be about 3ft or less.

True, but motors and drives are a dime-a-dozen. A hull like that Sutphen is irreplacable. :(

More race photos at www.njsportpics.com look under recent events, then Jenkinsons, then P4 class.

I just viewed the pics. It looks like they were running the boat with the tabs down. When you come off a wave bow high with the tabs down it's going to be a hard re-entry.

I wonder if TowBoat was able to put a salvage claim on it and now the owners would have to fight to get their hardware back ? Was there any type of racers insurance coverage ? I hope everyone heals well.It seems the safety equip. really played a part also.

"if it were a foam cored or balsa cored hull there would be three funerals to attend"...i don't think so tim!

"one of the best built boats out there,it is a plywood core"...are you sure you want to combine those two statements!?

sorry, there is something way wrong with a boat coming apart like this averaging 60mph lap speeds. NOT to say anyone could have foreseen this.

GREAT to see everyone is OK!!!!
