The article was from June of 2001 so the boat you displayed must be one of their decommisioned boats from the 80's"?

"Customs recently took delivery (6/01) of three 39-foot Midnight Expresses (a fourth is in the mold), which have been customized for use in law enforcement"

Imagine having four guys with machine guns strapped in those specially made seats just waitng for you!

I think you should buy it Dreamer. It has your name written all over it :)

Look familiar?

I mentioned this place as they had a few boats worth a look a few weeks back.

Check this one out:
http://www.yachtauctions.com/detail.asp?stockNo=9796

It came from "lifesabet.com" (online betting) wonder what happened?

2000 Spectre Cat
LENGTH TRAILER
36 Feet Yes

ENGINE MAKE & MODEL YR HP HRS
Twin Mercruiser 500 EFI High Output (see upgrades) 2000 788 149
GEN MAKE & MODEL YEAR COND.

No
LOCATION OF BOAT
Florida National Liquidators
MINIMUM BID STATUS
$145,000 Available

GENERAL CONDITION
A NICE boat. Extensive engine upgrades reportedly by Arizona Speed & marine (reworked heads, balanced and blueprinted).

OPTIONS
Custom trailer is available (trailer is in like new condition). 540i cams and Whipple blowers. Reported to have dyno HP of 788. Mercruiser XR drives with IMCO lower cases and shafts. Gaffrig gauges, Garmin GPS, 1200 watt stereo, cockpit cover, etc. Custom Paint job with heavy clearcoat!

To duplicate this boat with T-800 HP engines/Imco tc etc an engine might cost what they are looking for as a low bid. If you watch the min bids they do go down from time to time.

There are a couple listed around in the 250's with not nearly the equipment this boat has. I will wait and if I can get a bid in for 75-100k see what happens.

Boats that have been seized in most auctions have a "false bottom" on low bid. I have seen a Pantera Sportscar have a minimum of 120k and wind up going home at the very end of the auction for 30k. These specialty boats that are seized are eventually given away. I pays to have a liquidation business just for seizures. I don't know the history on the above boat but am wondering.

I have bid on boats at Yachtaucrions, dealt with a guy named "Jim" he was very straight up on condition of boats. As for the min bid, you can bid whatever you want, if they turn it down drop it a thousand the next week, and bid again. Thats my advise but then again I never got any that I bid on

I agree with Will. They will also let you come to crawl all over any boat they have. When I was looking, I had bid on a couple when the min bid was a deal. The bank has the final say and in my case, they said no.

Is this Spectre worth a bid of 75k?

If anybody needs anything looked at at Florida National Liquidators, let me know, I'll go get pics, I work right down the street. I used to store my cruiser in the same marina, their inventory is 50/50.........

50 percent crap, 50 percent awesome.

The one in the picture belongs to the guys at Point Marine in Pompano. The boat named "X-Arestor" has a new mantex deck, new rigging, and was redone by the professionals at the US Customs shop in St. Augustine.
