I've had some good people come through for me in similar situations.

How many times have you tried to compensate some good-doer that saves you're azz, and they won't accept?

Many times for me, gives me renewed faith in mankind. :)

This only took about a half hour and by now its 5pm so we had some dinner at the marina. Oh yeah , it finally stopped raining. That's the Throgs Neck Bridge in the backround for you New Yorkers who might recognize it

OK , so now it's 6 pm and we're still 6 hours from our destination and 2 hours from home. The front axle I was running on and bottomed out looks slightly bent too. So screw it......head home. Back on the cross Bronx...across the GW bridge...hop on the turnpike to this :(

We lost fuel pressure just as we made the turn out of the Kingston Inner Harbor during the start of the Poker Run, the man that towed us back in to the dock spent close to an hour in the bilge chasing wires, when Tommy tried to give him some money, he wouldn't accept anything.
All he asked for was a ride for his kids if we see him next year. There are good people everywhere.

Yeah. We tried to buy Ray lunch then even dinner and he laughed it off and refused. Absolutely wouldn't take anything. I guess it was repayment for the times I've done the same.

Mo, did you ever see the movie "Pay It Forward"? Hit Blockbuster and rent it this week if you haven't. :D Glad to hear everything worked out okay in the end.

On the upside you got it fixed, met some good people who helped, and you're still on vacation. . . . . which means we'll probably see pictures of you boating all this week while we're breaking our butts at work right?

When I broke my upper gears a few years ago, a guy in a Formula towed me in. Towboats US was backed up that day and was going to take them 2-3hrs. A severe T-storm was in the forecast to hit soon and he got us back to dock in time. When I offered to fill his tank, and give him some cash, he refused. I insisted, but he still refused. He said "Just return the favor by helping out the next guy broke down on the river"......"Who knows, It could be me".

While we're on that note, anyone know on the board know him? This was several years ago. He said he hangs out in Mattawoman, 23-25' Formula. I think his name was David Riggles, or maybe David Riddles. I'd like to buy him a beer someday.
