good boat?
 
been looking for a while, just a working man who can't afford $80,000+ for a boat


opinions/experiences appreciated on something like the one below (hull, rough water handling, speed, etc)..... thanks in advance..

I gotta say, 80s CCs don't have a good reputation. Lots of structural issues. Not fast either. IMHO, you can't win with this one... but that's just me.

I agree with ST. You should look for an older Formula, there are some great deals on them now. At least you know you're getting a solid hull. Of course, I'm just prejudice. :)

Pier 57's got a Fountain 8.8meter (29') with twin 454's. I think they want something less than 50k for it and based on how long they've had it you could probably get a sweet deal. That's a solid old boat that you can upgrade as you can afford.
