I'm recovering from being depressed about not participating in the Poker Run. However going to the party was a lot of fun.

I got Ron Songrath to auction off Mike Bobbit on date with him on his boat to Catalina. Got 1000 bucks for charity.

It was a fun night. I will hopefully be able to participate in the Havasu Poker Run next month.

Thats about $800 for just the body. Then another$1500-$3000 for a zoom telephoto lens... Then there is $45 for a tripod so you don't get a herniated shoulder joint.. or a neck like a girraff.:D The do have places that lease zoom lens for the Canons and Nikess. I met a guy when I went up to the Gold Cup in Detroit last year. Cost him $200+ per day (?)to lease a 600mm lens. We compared his view of a blowover with mine with the Olympus C 750 and the teleconverter. His was a tad brighter.

Take a look at the latest Panasonics and Olympus if you want a comfortable hand held. DO NOT talk DIGITAL ZOOM--ONLY OPTICAL ZOOM.

a 10x OPTICAL zoom is the same as a 380mm- 35 slide cameras. With the teleconverter it equates up to a 600.. zoom..

PS a good memory card 256-512 mega bytes will also add about $150-300 per card..
