So what was the deal, Why didn't Pair-a-dice, canopied elimitnator, any MTI's, OSO gladiator, Parnell's Saber, and other's run???
Where was Dirty Duck, I think Slug could have run by him self in that class.
OSO (steve) it would have been good exposer for the board even if you didn't win your class.
I heard at one time they had over 60 boats at the start boat ready to run. Back in the day they only sent out about 10 to 20 boats at a time to the start boat. They would then check in, the start boat would take down their #'s and tell them who they ran after. It always seemed to run pretty fast!! I heard that this year they were going to the boats at the start boat with a sign of who was next, and that really held everything up!!

Great shots OCG!!
It was great meeting you guys too!
I wonder if one of the reasons more boats didn't run was the wait time. I know I sat out there floating for nearly two hours!!!
I've got the sunburn to prove it!!

Parnell's Saber "dun blowed up a starter" I heard from the man, but at least he still has his atrocious fashion sense. Nice shorts Parn!
Pics of Parns rig from last winter and proof of his Western-Michigan incomparable fashion savy.

I made 1 run on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. On Sunday I was boat #27. I checked in with the start boat at about 11:00 and did not run until 12:25. I thought the start line organization was ok, it was the racers that did not get ready fast enough. Many of them were 1/4 mile outside the staging box when they should have been moving into the start box. Then they would idle up to the staging area before moving into the start box. Way too much wasted time.
The boat with a sign at the start area just let the racers know who was at the line and who was next, so you could tell how far back your turn was. They just idled around the racers and kept updating those numbers.
All in all it was a blast. Ran 76 on Saturday and 85 on Sunday. Can't wait until next year.
Gordo - thanks for the use of the lifevest. I couldn't breathe with it buckled up (no chance of sucking water if I went in). Guess I'll have to get an XL for myself next year. Thanks again.
