Default Boat Smoke Detectors

We received some info from our insurance company that states that boats 26' and larger that accomedate sleeping will require to have a recreational single station smoke detector UL217 that will be mandated by federal law effective Sept 2004.

This is apparently in addtion to a Halon system and a carbon monoxide detector.

Thanks,

Finman
