We need a detour on Frances

:blaster:

Its amazing how we can try and digest what transpired a few weeks ago, then have to stomach the fact that another 'creature' of this magnitude or greater is approaching. I hope and prey that this POS takes a turn out of 'harms way'. As we all know, this can not be ignored or taken lightly.

I hope Frances doesn't hit Florida. I still have a pile of trash leftover from Charley. We have so many homes in my area that only have tarps for a roof. They could never withstand another blow.

If Frances does come our way our storm panels are still in easy reach. I can be ready in about an hour.
Not that I'm looking forward to another strom. Charley was bad enough.

This could be a REALLY bad storm. SW Florida can't take another hit right now, or that part of the state will be washed away. I'm desperately hoping it goes due west and heads to S. America and hit some isolated area where no one is.

Watch this one VERY carefully.

We are watching this VERY CAREFULLY! We were very lucky last time, I'm afraid we won't be as lucky this time!

This one is BIG.
Bigger than Charley.

Hurricane force winds out to 85 mile radius and tropical storm force out to 140 mile radius.
That makes it 280 miles across!!!

There's too many homes around here with only a tarp for a roof. They can't take another blow like that.
Area contactors are swamped. Roofers are telling people that they can't get out to do an estimate for three weeks to two months. As long as temporary repairs have been made they won't come out.

If you pull up the satellite images you can see how pronounced the Eye is. Weather Channel gave a prediction that if it turns 'early' it puts it dead smack into S Carolina. If not, your looking at the outside bands hitting S Fla first before the Eye would come ashore around the Boca, West Palm area.

I have big plans for the Labor Day weekend so I too am watching everynite. Mine is pleasure related ,but I am concerned about life and property. This is big though and maybe that front coming down will steer it more to the open Atlantic.

I pray for all you guys in the "Hurricane Alleys".

I've been through snow storms and even a tornado (In Fla.). I can only imagine what a strong hurricane must be like.
