New Alcohol

Vaporized, no calories, no need to use a restroom, no hangover, and affects brain more per serving than glass beverages, breathalyzers can be passed while over the limit.

Good? Bad?

Re: New Alcohol

It's bad if young punks get on it then get out there and drive because they can pass a breathalyzer. I don't know about in Ohio, but you don't have to fail a breathalyzer here in Florida to get a DUI. It is another charge called UBAL, unlawful blood alcohol level. The UBAL just makes it almost impossible to beat a DUI, which is a good thing.

Just my 02 but I think it is crazy , you drink to have fun and after a while you either decide you have had enough or you want more. I think it kinda falls along the lines of paint sniffing.

I'm beginning to think there is NO HOPE for this f***in' dumb-ass kid. He's plenty smart, but doesn't ever seem to learn . . . . I dunno - when I was his age, I was bulletproof too.

I was immortal.

Re: New Alcohol

Two local guys thought they were immortal Sunday night too.
They left a party where they had been drinking, was driving at a high rate of speed, estimated at 90+, lost control, car flipped several times ejecting both occupants, one guy (16 yrs old) died instantly, the driver (18 I think) flew so high he crashed through a home's roof and was found lying in the attic....alive but died shortly afterward.

It's just not worth it.

It's ok to party but do so responsibly.

Just wondering what others thought, and if anyone else had heard anything.

Society has enough problems with the glass, who knows where this will lead us. IMHO.

I heard about it too and that some clubs in the city are doing it and then getting paid 2 times for the same drink someone inhales it and then they sell it to some one who drink's it. I think you will soon find that this will be illegal...

I'll second that .. or 3rd i mean  Then again, I have heard of vaporizing THC instead of smoking a doob (never tried), I was immortal too Cuda, from age 14 to @ age 28 .. the last 11yrs just coming out of the fog. At 39yrs old not really interested in alcohol vapor, cat traquilizers, sniffing glue, drugging women at bars. The fun and innocence seems to have gotten lost somewhere.

Basically, they are vaporizing liquor and you inhale it in an oxygen mask sort of thing. Or that's been my general impression of how it works. Crazy stuff.

It sounds like a drug designed for 1 thing: to get high or drunk. I don't like the sound of that. You can't compare it to drinking unless you're binge drinking.

I hope it is outlawed

Saw this on the travel channel, very popular in europe,,, but wasn't sure it was legal in the U.S. yet ?? I think the machine costs over 3 grand..

Re: New Alcohol

AWoL users pour a shot of their favorite spirit into a diffuser capsule, which is connected to an oxygen pipe.

Oxygen bubbles are pumped through it, absorbing the alcohol and creating a smoky-looking vapor, which is then sucked through a tube and inhaled.

The whole process takes about 20 minutes.

Seems like a pain in the A$$ to me. Sit there looking like an idiot for 20 minites with this pipe hanging out of your mouth.

Isn't that what alcohol is? A drug designed to get high?

I don't know exactly how a breathalizer works, but I don't see how this could "evade" a breathalizer. I would think if the alcohol is in your system it would still detect it. But I could be wrong.

I'll take the no restroom and no hangover any day! :D

Alcohol is alcohol......if it's in your bloodstream, it will be detected. This is just another way to get it in there. No where did it say that breath testers can't detect it. It's friggin booze either way!

I was responding to the original thread where Hyper said they could be passed over the legal limit. I think you may get a slightly lower reading, but not much. Like you said, it's in the bloodstream.

Sure would be nice to not have the "one in, one out" bathroom breaks! :D

Re: New Alcohol

Never heard of vaporizing alcohol and inhaling it,what i did read once (but can't remember where) about 10 years ago was that desperate alcoholics (that don't have enough alcohol to get drunk drinking it)have given themselves alcohol ENEMAS because it soaks thru the colon and intestines directly into the blood stream and gets them A.F.U. on very little alchohol(I know,it sounds like urban legend),Smitty
I prefer to DRINK my alcohol!!!!,Smitty

This method of consuming alcohol reduces the effects of a hangover and is low calorie.

The AWOL Vaporizer has a built-in safety device because it takes about 20 minutes to inhale one vaporizer shot of alcohol. It is not something people are going to get very drunk on.

It is designed to allow people to enjoy the effects of alcohol mixed with oxygen. It promotes a sense of well being and a mild euphoria. It is a fun new legal way to take alcohol.

The new method is known as AWOL, an acronym for “Alcohol With Out Liquid”, and is a hit in the global club scene due to the euphoric “high” created when alcohol is vaporized, mixed with oxygen and inhaled

blackhawk 09-01-2004 02:21 PM

Re: New Alcohol

I thought they meant it took 20 minutes for the process to happen. Not that you had to inhale it for 20 minutes. So much for conversation while you're drinking! :drink:

Sort of like flaming Sanbuca. Pour a shot, light it, cover it with your hand until it goes out slam the shot than recover it quickly, slide a straw in between your fingers into the glass and suck out the vapors. It hits you like a brick and wears off fast. fun to try, gets old fast.
