I've often refered to Mormons as "Rocky Mountain Jews"... sorry to offend any Jews........ :D Since they both claim to have a direct connection to God... they both have a promised land called "Zion",,, they both tithe. they both have traditions steeped in dogma... But since the Jew would probably have to have a "sign" from God that he should be on a deserted island... the Mormon only has to "perceive by his own free will that God has spoken to him".... such bullsh!t... that is why I only go back there to visit...... :D

I remember playing on my great grandads farm in park city (Mc polan ranch)
and how he owned most of the town and the hills all the way to little cottonwood canyon. He also owned the alpine slide and the mountain it was on. When we were kids we used to climb the silos at the farm.
Very few people up there back then. Most my family was mormon and trust me,,the place is very strange. Also utah county and the city of provo, have the highest percentage rate of rental porn per person in the U.S.
When I was there and would go to the great salt lake, it was full of gnats to salty smoke from the copper refinery was stinking up the place with the smell from the lake. It was always a show when Antelope island on the lake would get hit by lightning and burn for days.

After about three days there, I start freaking out too, Reed.

It's like the whole place evolved in a vacuum, so many things are different there from the rest of the US.

It is funny to see the pockets of hedonism popping up.

Last time I was there we went to a bar with a big pool outside, surrounded by greek columns and bleachers to watch... and inside the club above the dance floor there were those showers... think "Club Rain" in Vegas. I think it was called Club Splash.
