Any MI guys(or girls) heading to Torch Lake?
 

Usually a blast on Labor Day Weekend. I know the weather isn't looking good right now but that can change. Anyone planning on it?

Not again this year,it's been getting into high 30's,low 40's at night up there,water is cooling off quick!!

Ahhh, you get used to that water after a few minutes! :rolleyes: That water is always cold anyway. I'd love to check out your boat if you decide to go.

I may be there with my 25 Daytona. It is white with purple/red accents. Look me up if you see it. I will try to get to the sandbar early Sunday morning to get a spot if the weather holds.

I will be in the area...Elkrapids but running the Bay if the weather holds. We should get a get together going at Docksides on Saturday night!!!

It's beautiful here today and I'm stuck inthe office! :mad:

The forcast keeps getting warmer but still a chance for scattered showers. Last time I had a weekend planned at Torch(bachelor party) the forcast kept getting better everday and ended up being one of the nicest weekends we've had. So, maybe it will happen again.

Yesterday the high for Saturday was 75, scattered showers and a 40% chance of rain. Just checked and it's now high of 80, mostly sunny and a 10% chance of rain. Could turn out to be a good weekend yet!

This morning's forecast high of 83, mostly sunny and 0% chance of rain! Anyone else thinking about heading to the sandbar?

Donna,

You should come on up... I can pull my boat with your truck, you guys take my Suburban Mr. P can sit in the back seat put a movie in keep his foot up and take a nap!

Get to the lake we pick him up at the river quick soft ride to the sand bar! He be all tan except for that foot :drink:

Better yet he shares all of his pain meds and it's a really great day....

No kidding you want to get away call..

Ok I am back, he needed his dinner plate brought to the sink, dirty dishes get to him :rolleyes: anyway nuff said it is not his fault, the BT looks so lonely in the driveway, I think it is getting dusty :eek: We have it better that most we did take a cruise around the little lake in the Malibu tonight, it was beautiful it's finally summer in MI. We could have been out this weekend on Lake Erie, but second best we will be with some neighbors on their pontoon; oh woe is me..............sorry for the wine

Brad, thanks for the invite I asked Ian and he was sort of sad & said "Donna I just don't think I am up to it yet". He has had more pain with this then we were both expecting. Torch lake sounds inviting, & I have always wanted to see it, thanks but we will have to take a rain check. Please say hi to your inlaws they are a blast. Come for a visit out here, your not that far, bring the kids and I will grill something, Ian would love it. Have a great weekend and say hi to Jen.

Yep, that's the only thing I hate about Torch. Damn seaweed and the dirty water! :rolleyes:

Looks like the weather us holding out. Putting in on Elk Lake and going down the river. Plan on being on the sandbar between 11-11:30.

Fightclub, I'll keep my eye open for ya. If you see me come on over and say hi and have a beer. That goes for anyone else that happens to be there too! Just look for yellow! :D

Actually, there is something I hate about Torch now! It looks like almost everyone in our group got some kind of "itch" from the water. Some worse than others. So far everyone I have talked to except for one has some red "dots" on their legs. A friend of mine got it really bad. I've been to that lake 50-60 times and never got it before.

Fightclub, I looked for you in the beginning of the day but it started getting crowded. Did you make it up?

I don't know what it is. But out of our group of about 25-30, I've talked to about 15 or so and all of them but 2 have it. Some worse than others. I just have some small red dots on my leg that don't itch at all. But a couple friends of mine have huge red bumps that are itching like crazy.

Yeah, made it back safe. Saturday was a great day. In fact so great it took all day Sunday to recover! :D

Scooter we got home but it was the worst drive home ever!!!131 was a parking lot!!so was m37 and m120 it took me over 5 hours to get home its usually about 2 and 1/2 hours..... :hothead:

My daughter had spots on her Monday... I had a few on my chest but I think the Alcohol killed it..

My wife was born and raised on Torch Lk. The dots are something called swimmers itch. Comes from duck and swan $hit if the water warms up.

We get swimmer's itch on our local lakes here but it's from snails. Someone else told me it was because the water was so warm this year. I didn't get it too bad. A couple people got it REALLY bad. And if alcohol can kill it then I wouldn't have it at all! :D
