Re: Our Boat Survived
That tree could have been it's demise, we were very lucky.
Minimum damage to the house, the pool area took a hit,but have to thank God for watching over The Lucky Strike 38 Gun. Hope everyone is as lucky as us. Keep us posted. Lucky Strike. |
Re: Our Boat Survived
Hi Bobby,
Glad to hear everything is OK. We were very lucky here. Nothing but small trees in the roadway. Lets hope the same with Ivan. I'm leaving all the shutters up until Ivan passes. Hope everyone's OK. Frank |

I dont know why weather in the panhandle was perfect. You should have seen the looks my wife and I got as we were heading out of the river. It was nice out on the Gulf accept for one sqawl comming back in. Everybody around here is getting ready for Frances, Our hardware store is standing room only. Kevin Roberts

Not many bites on the 38. A few lookers, everyone says WOW I can't believe how Clean this is for a 91, Iv'e had offeres over the phone, but there all B.S. even when I told one guy I would take his 85k offer, I never heard from him again. The number he gave me was wrong,an he called me three times with no caller I.D. Good thing I'm not in a rush----unlike L.S.Jr----- L.S. |
Re: Our Boat Survived
Congrats on making it through the storm!! Winds in Cape Coral are around 50-65 mph. I don't have much to loose after Charlie. Just hanging on tight! Be Safe!

Re: Our Boat Survived
I'm happy to hear the "Lucky Family" faired well, I enjoy the roving reports, plus I was thinking about beggin a ride on the cig in November when I will be in your area :D . Kitten your boat is sitting pretty on that hoist, glad you also came out OK. It is funny before OSO, when the hurricanes hit FL I never thought much about it, but now I think about the Lucky's, Cuda, Kitten, DRGirl, BatGirl, Salesmanship, Fever Mike, Hugetime and so many others of you from FL. I watch the reports with so much more interest hoping everyone will be OK. See you guys in November.

Re: Our Boat Survived
Yep that's the boat, somehow I knew you would have a picture :D What does he park it in front of, that's is a lot of footage to take up.
I had a tour of the boat once, but never road in it, my friend got to take clients on weekends to the Bahamas. Enjoy your day off if you can, you might be pretty busy cleaning things up. Donna |

I just returned from Naples. The parking lot here is full of trees. The trailer I left outside is still there. I need to get on the roof and re position my tv dish. My boat is fine. The ice is still frozen so I guess I never lost any power. I was always one step ahead of the storm. Any word from spitfire1 yet ?

Re: Our Boat Survived
Gald everyone made it ok.
We did too. No real damage to speak of. Roof is still intact. A few small things were broken or damaged. All easily fixed or replaced. Saw on the news Saturday there was a 50'+ yacht that had broken loose and drifting in the Intercoastal. Anyone know it's fate? |
Re: Our Boat Survived
L.S.,
Good to see your boat survived. Talk is obviously cheap but if all the thing fell in place I'd match the $85 K offer you got. After well talked a few weeks ago I went out and got an insurance quote from PMA that didn't quite put me into cardiac arrest ! Hopefully Ivan will also avoid you, ed |
Re: Our Boat Survived
Bob/Steve,
I thought you guys had a trailer?????????? And you left it on the lift???? Just a word of wisdom on this one.. Do not leave your boat on a lif in a Hurricane...Especially if you have a trailer. I know you guys aren't all that close to the inlet, but hurricanes do generate one heck of a tide surge. That surge could have come up and over the gunnels on the boat. No the boat wouldn't float...as you had it tided town with the death straps.... I've seen a few boats het held under by owners tying the boats to the lift.. I'm glad to see that the boat made it through. Now, if the cat 5 Ivan decides to look this way....will you put the boat on the trailer??? Let me know if you need help. You know I'm glad to. |
