Whew...Frances Sucked!
 

Well, we made it. This storm was crazy, it just wouldn't go away. It's been 3 days of hell just worrying and waiting, not to mention a perfectly good 3-day Labor Day Weekend gone. We've had a few sleepless nights and some interesting winds and water.

I hope everyone fared well through the storm. :)

Spent most of the day yesterday cutting up trees, cutting down tops of trees, hauling to the curb. I now have a pile that is about a third the size of our house. Called for an appointment to get it picked up by the big "grabber machine" and was told I had to cut it up into 4 ft. lengths and bundle it together, not to exceed 40 lbs. I just laughed at him. It'd take me a month to do that. Got another number and they are coming out midweek to pick it up. It's a mountain of crap.

Still have the small fenced in back yard to go so it's not done yet.

We were lucky, we never lost power.

The waiting, waiting, and waiting, really got on everybody's nerves.

And now Ivan might pay us a call.

Wow, we took a beating. Our house flooded and wrecked the carpet, so now we are wandering aimlessly.... Stayed at my mom's house for a few days but am ready to kill myself!!

J O, the east coast really took a beating, lots without power and phone, but thankfully the storm weakened substantially before hitting land full force.

F O, Sounds like you have we have our work cut out for us...I couldn't believe the mess...I too have a mountain of crap in my yard. The water stopped about an inch from my floor level....Got REALLY LUCKY!
A lot of others didn't do so well at all. :(
