Default Looking for Mooring cover with draw cord or elastic edge………..

I'm looking for a full mooring cover for my boat (25 Outlaw) to keep the sun from fading the deck. Any recommendations on brand/ best cost would be appreciated. I saw a nice cover on a 25 that had either a draw cord or elasticized edge that held the cover tight to the hull just under the rub rail (no strap loops).

coverquest.com custom 25 outlaw and semi custom shark-skin covers for approx 300 - 325 right here.

http://www.coverquest.com/covers/boat/boatdetail.php

P.S. shark-skin is very light, very durable and very water-proof

I bought the blue cover from Boater's World for my 26' Sonic, and was quite happy with it. Elastic surround was a pain to get used to, but fit and finish was pretty decent, and the built in straps to keep it down to a the trailer or lift were nice.

I had a Shark-skin cover made through Overtons for my 21' Liberator that fit like a glove and was EXTREMELY water repellent and light weight

Shark-skin seems to be the way to go but will my deck be protected from the sun? says nothing about UV protection?

I saw the Carrie add in Oct. powerboat mag. page 37. They say a 35' cover weighs less than a pair of jeans, and folds up into a pretty small bag. I thought they were pricy, for our size boat (43') they are $900-$1,200 but I have not compared prices.

Just my .02 worth, elastic is fine when cover is new, but seems to be the first part of the cover to go bad. I prefer the draw cord in the bottom edge for that reason. And altho if enough overhang below the rub rail the cover should stay in place except for higher wind conditions at which time you will need the tie downs on the sides as well. Good luck.

I bought a tyvek cover from Overton's for my last boat to use as a light cover to keep my real cover looking new. IT was pretty cheap, arouns $200 I think, and it worked well, although after 2 years it was fairly trashed. I wouldn't use that as the only cover, but for a lightweight cover it was great
