Destin Damage
 

Just curious if anybody knows what the damage is like in destin. I have not heard how hard they were hit. I've heard that most of 98 between Ft. Walton and Destin is all screwed up. Wonder if Aj's, Lucky Snapper and other landmarks are still ok?

If you want a view of the nearby dmamges look at www.PensacolaNewsJournal.com---they've been posting pictures of the devastation there and Destin Ft Walton has got to be as bad or worse simply becuase of the number of houses and marina's there on the ICW and barrier island.

Destin got hit hard, tons of beach erosion and damage to houses on Gulf, AJ's so so Okay. Lucky snapper has serious damage to downstairs bar. Multiple boats sunk in harbor, thrown up on docks. Holiday Isle(Gulf Shore Drive) Closed by FEMA and covered by sand Damage said to be bad. Power still out a lot of places. But a few stores are starting to open but no gas stations yet.

THANKS FOR THE PICS!!!! Thats the place we stay every year.....Sandpiper Cove. I'm surprised most are still standing. These pics really show some damage, but I can't even begin to imagine what it looks like in person.

some serious destruction. 1 pic that stands out is a large a'/c unit that blew of a school and landed on 1 car. i-10 is really f'd up. that is going to take a long time to fix. really mind blowing.......

yeah I saw that.....there's also a pic in there of whats left of the FloraBama. I'm really speechless after looking at these pics.
