just a quicky, what was the last year for the 525 sc? any trouble?

I have 525 sc Hawks in my 1991 Top Gun they run great..idle at 700 .

never load up the plugs, lots of power with stock engines.

I'm very happy with them.

I do believe the last year was 2000,I have a pair of them in a 32 Velocity with Super Chillers and CMI Exhaust and they make lots of HP,Aprox 625/650 and are very reliable,idle well and are user friendly.I would recommend them to anyone.

the last year was 97/98, they are great motors, my uncle has a pair in his advantage, 190 hrs on them and still runnin strong, never had any major problems, very reliable.

The last year they were made by merc was 1997. There could be some leftovers that made it into some newer boats.

97-98 Last year.

I have a friend that has one absolutely no problems in 300 hours.
