Re: P & D / Volbvo 280 outdrive
dont know much about the boat but i have heard the are good solid boats and competent in ruff water as well. i have had several boats with Volvo280's on them and havehad pretty good luck wih them. they have a pretty wide cross section so the can tend to blow out after the upper 60's ( i think a nose cone can help this) i know they can handel a fair amout of power also. i know of a guy that has well over a thousand hours with a 500+ HP big block and no probs so far. it is also a dual direction drive, can run either left or right hand with the switch of a bell crank arm located under the rear cover. on a side note take a close look at the drive, when merc developed the brovo they used the 280 as a guidline to their new drive. they are very similar, so much so in fact that there is a gimbal ring availiable to put a brovo in a volvo trasom plate. i wouldnt hesitate to own another boat with the 280 atached. pretty simple drive and pretty strong as well.

Re: P & D / Volbvo 280 outdrive
i will do some searching but before i bought my first boat with a 280 i did a bunch of research on it. i had a thread going on another board, think it may have been hotboat. i got a bunch of info on it and someone posted some info pertaining to the gimbal ring. i will see if i can find it but it has been a while. if i remeber corectly it was a in kit form with everything for the conversion.
