HP525 Warranty
 

Folks,
Can you get the new 2004/2005 HP525s with an optional 5 year warranties from Mercury/Mercruiser for pleasure boat? Or is it only 1 year warranty from Mercury, and then I have to buy a 4 year extended warrenty from a co. like passport?

I'm a merc dealer and i don't know of any companies offering ext. warr.on the 525's.i have 3 my self.

Passport has it,and they are now owned by Brunswick,but Merc doesn't offer it. Kind of ironic,isn't it?

Passport called me back in april to offer me a ext warrenty but when i told them it was 525 they said they only warrenty upto the 502.learn something new everyday.

That is a new one on me, Doc,I have not checked with them lately,I did buy a 5 year Passport for a customer with 525's in Jan 04, must be a recent change. However, my new 05 Formulas with 525's still have the Formulaguard 5-year warranty which is thru Passport. Seems strange,doesn't it?

A friend of the family has two 500EFI's with a five year warranty. Not sure who it is through but I know he has it.
