Trading in Excursion?????
 

I am in the process of trading in my 2000 Excursion Diesel 4x4,with 36k miles the dealer is going to give me $28500 so if anyone one is intrested in a PERFECT truck give me a call, before it is gone...waiting on dealer to locate and price out new truck.

Actually, 28,500 on a 5 year old Excursion is dam good. Low mileage helps.

Getting a F-350 Dually, crew cab,

The excursion is white with grey int. custom rims BFG tires, power seats, heated mirrows 3:73 gears auto four wheel drive, all service done by Ford and has 7 year 75k mile warranty. engine 100k warranty always inside and perfect paint and int. never smoked in, CD, cruise,keyless remote and on the door, running boards, tow package, tinted windows.

on Thursday I bought from the local Ford dealer a 2003 Excursion limited with every optionIE trailer package,towing pkg, V10 ,4X4,Rear DVD player...etc.VERY clean only a scrach on the Left door handle and a small crease in the front bumper and 100,600 miles...$15,000. I guess I did OK. Otto

The V10s are being given away. That is a good pricwe for the PSD, the lot will sell it for 35+.

you're lucky to get that high of a trade in value. i had an '01 psd, limited, all the options, tow package, tinted windows, heated mirrors, 4x4, plus airbags, dvd, some other goodies with similar mileage. 4 dealers from NY to NJ would only give me 21,500 for it and that was back in may. :( i wish i had the same offer you did!

They were going to stop making the excursion but I learned at the dealer that they are still going to be made but only in the Diesel motor and to purchase one the sticker tops out at 51K to 54K, for a like truck......

The V10 with 100k miles on it is like buying a diesel with 250k miles you just cant kill these motors if you take care of them.

I just sold a 2003 PSD 4X4 loaded with 15k for 36k. It had everything including dvd. I think they are being fair with you.

I wouldn't sell mine for anything. Best truck I have ever owned and a great box for a big sound system. :cool:

Only thing I would chime in is that look at the FINAL numbers, and compare w/ other dealers on the truck you are getting. Remember, they can make it look like you are getting fantastic money for your trade in ... or ... a smoking deal on your next vehicle. Just always look at the bottom line :)

Oh I know the tricks of the trade, and my wife worked as a fiance manager for 4 years and now she is a loan officer, we know all about the loading on the back side of the deal...

I am waiting on them to find me a 2002-2003 Crew Cab PSD 4x4 Dually truck with low mileage....anyone know where one is ?

James i will sell you mine. It has 29,900 miles on it and its an 03. You saw it at red eyes that weekend we were all up there.

James, I will vouch for Bobby's truck. Towed Monsoon up and down the mountains with no problem. Clean truck with tinted windows, nerf bars, chrome wheels, leather buckets, and Line-X already installed.

My Excursion was a Powerstroke Diesel. the V10 had a trade in value of 17K (then add for the options). That is what i put in my post, but onloy said "psd". The "psd" was worth another $2,500 on the trade in. Still sucked, and yes its all about hte bottom line. "Wholesale to wholesale or retail to retail. Anyway, I'm glad to be in something else now.....not the best "daily driver" due to the mileage! :eek:

the reality is...the bottom fell out of the market for used excursions, due to dealer incentives, cash back etc. on new vehicles. i had actually wanted to trade it in 14 months ago to a dealership in california while i was there and they would only give me 22k for it way back then! 2 dealerships here in NY said they would give me 26k until i got there and was working a near invoice deal on the new car. once there wasn't enough fat in the deal, the trade in value got much skinnier too. that's what i meant by wholesale to wholesale or retail to retail. i'd be willing to bet the offer for 28k changes when it comes to writing a check unless they are making it up on the new purchase. the excursion was up for sale for 9 months. as always, when it comes to writing a check, people's arms shrink up into their shoulders.

anyway, best of luck to you and your next purchase. if someone will give you that 28k grab it! i'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here. i'm sorry i said anything as it is. again, good luck and enjoy.

If you want to know what your car is really worth look on ebay.

28k is a ton take it and run.

You can buy a 2002 on ebay for less.

My dad got a trade in price on his 2003 6.0 psd limited 4x4 every option available w/70k miles for $25,000.

2002 V-10 Excursion I had with 37K miles was only worth around $23k. I loved the vehicle however the resale stinks. I know the PSD does much better but more than 5K more would be a stretch. I sold it and bought a Suburban which seems to be a little kinder on the back end.
