Same comments were used after it died down and we were able to go out and survey the damage. We did the same for Frances but it didn't reach the same level as Charley. Charley was a cat. 2 by the time it reach our place. I can't imagine what Ivan was like at cat. 4. |

Honestly, I don't know how you guys do it. Give me an ice storm any day over what you're going through. Electric goes out? No problem - just scoop the snow into some bowls and throw it in the fridge. You now have a HUGE cooler. Get cold? Start up a generator, hook it to your furnace and your whole house is warm. Yes, sometimes trees fall through houses, but there is always the option of cutting down all the trees near your house before hand to prevent such things.

I am still living inside plywood clad concrete block building, but just until Jeanne.......Lisa........Mathew, etc....passes :eek: :eek: :eek: Right now we are still getting some squalls, leftovers from Ivan as it makes its circle on the way back across into the Gulf! |

Sounds like they need to re-write their postcards. Instead of “The Weather Is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful” it should say “The Weather Is Here, Wish You Sucked”.

Still getting remnants of Ivan that split apart, 3 inches of rain today.
