Audio ,video guys HELP ! Did I get screwed ?
 

I just got this for $26 ....
It is a sharp , LCD monitor .
The discription says " Sharp 5.7 Inch TFT color panel for IA application" .
WHat is "IA" ?

I want to use this for DVD & GPS. Will it work ? WHats up with this funky plug ? It is 2 wires ,flat plastic plug . red and white wires. Can I make it an RCA jack or what ever they call them, so I can plug it into my radio ?

does the white wire have a shield and center conductor?
if so I would say red is hot and the sheild is ground, center conductor on the white if it has one will be standard video in

Looks like a "refill" for a monitor. As in "just the screen" without the electronics. My guess is that the two wire connector is for the backlight.

If I'm right, it will have a provision on it somewhere for a ribbon cable about 1.5" wide that goes from the screen unit to the electronic driver hardware.

Hope I'm wrong.

That was my guess. Looked proprietary to some installed system with component electronics. Not universal at all.

You've still got the same question on OFFTOPIC.
I still say it is a DISPLAY only, without the "GUTS" you need to make it work.

And you can't just find GUTS unless you manage to locate a complete monitor with a broken panel of the same pixel resolution. Not impossible, but kind of like that needle haystack thing...
