26 Nova project done!!
3 Attachment(s)
My buddy finally finished his Nova after a 2 year reconstruction. boat is a 1993. motors are NA 725hp's. custom dry exhaust from Stainless marine to prevent reversion. This is one LOUD boat. He hasn't gotten into the throttles too much because he is trying to get the feel for the boat first with all this HP. He did pass me at 70+ mph and he said didn't take above 3500 rpms

Re: 26 Nova project done!!
click the pics to get the big version. All the purple paint on the boat is that flip flop paint.....motors, tabs, gimble housings, battery boxes, etc.

Re: 26 Nova project done!!
Nice Job! A friend of mine bought the same model Spyder in 93 with the twin 7.4/Bravo's and it ran easily in the uppers 70's. Was one crazy boat with that power in a 26, but it handled well. I can only imagine the performance you are looking at with your setup.
Good luck. Excellant looking boat. E.S. |

Re: 26 Nova project done!!
Cap, i was taking the pics in my boat....so you should have seen my hooptie too. We went back to riverside marina to get something to eat on saturday. We tried anyway  Pulled up and the gas kid gave me an attitude. it went downhill from there (i dont respond well to attitudes from 18 yr old dope smokers) . I tried to give him some good advice in life by saying that if he goes through life giving people attitudes and cursing at them....that he's gonna get his a$$ kicked alot. He then went and told the owner that i hurt his feelings. We ended going back to our marina.

Re: 26 Nova project done!!
I remember the Fine details on that boat that made it stand out when you looked at it up close. Plus how many of those boats are running around out there. Unfortunately I didn't see your Hooptie I was busy with my fine babes aboard pleasuring them in many ways. :D :drink:

He took every piece of hardware out of the bilge area and off the transom, then reinforced the transom and stringers with Kevlar and re-gelcoated. |

Re: 26 Nova project done!!
He only had it out twice so far for maybe a total of 3 hours. So he hasn't gone over 3500 rpms yet until he gets the feel of the boat (remember, he hasn't driven the boat in 2+ years!!) I'm glad he is being safe and "respecting" the beast rather than going out there and hurting himself. I'll let you know the speeds in a couple weeks. He still needs to prop the boat right.
Oh, and at 3500 rpms, he passed me like i had an anchor out. ( i was running 67mph. ) |
