OK ... Back to the boat ...

Brandon ... You were one of if not the first to have that back seat set-up in a TG .... How is that working out ? Do your passengers sit while underway ? or do they tend to stand up when running ?

What is the "ballpark" number on these new 39's ???

Where is this one with the Zuls going ?

Whats the weight ???

Wow, 6 pages of comments and I'm the one outta line! :D I just think it looks like a Outerlimits or a Nor-tech, and if you go back and read all the posts, I'm not the only one to think that!

I don't get why all these Cigarette guys are so sensitive to that. It's like when the Outerlimits guys went nuts when people made comments about the quality of paint jobs at the Miami boatshow last year. For some reason they feel the need to defend their choice of boat as being the BEST boat out there.

Yes the Great lakes are very rough and fun as hell, but the ocean is the ocean, period. One or two weekends in the Biscayne Bay a Winter doesn't count.

I agree. I have been in large waves in the Atlantic too. I think what gets everyone from the great lakes riled up is when people who have not spent any real time here boating think it's always calm. I can't remember anyone saying it's rougher here. Ludacris is the right word for a sentiment like that. Just sometimes very rough. All fun in my book :drink: NK

I have had more compliments on the new backseat than I ever expected. People do sit down now more in my boat than ever before. More stabilization, and more handles really made a difference. Running for hours and hours to places really takes a toll on your legs after awhile, even with padded carpet.

Having the option of sitting down and having 2 handles to comfortably grip per person was my goal. OSG's boat was the inspiration.

The 39 we are staring at in the photo's is officially for sale. I am not sure of the weight, and don't want to give a ballpark on the price, as I'm sure it vary's widely depending on the chosen options.

It sure is purty. I will take a closer look in a few weeks.

The boat ran 101 plus a few tenths, with Neill and Phil 1/2 tank of fuel and 92 degrees / 90%
humidity in Miami. The boat was tested by Powerboat at Sarasota speeds and test results are unknown. You're gonna have to buy the magazine for results! Phil loves the boat and very proud of it. The motors are Zul 700s single four barrel. And the best of all this boat is available!!

Ok guys that was fun. Now let start over no fighting.
This trend got way out of line

In my book, the lip Ship boat is particuliar sharp. Maybe it's the purple/silver scheme going on. :D I do like the seperate bolster set up, and the colors on Cigs new dash look awesome. I do see some simularities with Nortechs dash, but thats a good thing, a flat dash panel is in the past, good job Skip. :D Jeff

Also the steps in the door going to the top deck looks great and functional, nice and wide, you don't have to be a contortinust getting up there, Hear that Nortech and Outerlimits :D Very nice boat for someone. Jeff

Cock pit set up looks much better on hull #3. Center cabin access is better.
I still think those hand hold on the rear seat are a problem, they hit your legs if you stand in the rear of the boat.
Beautiful boat!

They should be sitting :D :D
I have not had any of my passengers complain about it. they all tell me that they like being able to hold
on with two hands.

Those rear seats would not be for me I like laying around back there to much when we're parked in bays and stuff. Purely a "what I use my rig for" assesment.

Besides who cares if the passengers bounce around when it's rough, I have a sterring and throttles to hang on to. :D:D:D

Re: cigarette's new 39

I think the back seat should have some kind of strap to hold on to, then be able to tuck it under the seat when you don't need it.

As for the Great Lakes or the Ocean;

I don't think anyone wakes up in the morning and makes up there mind if they are going to boat in Lake Michigan or the Atlantic, unless you pull your boat with a C-5A Galaxy so that debate is somewhat futile.

From Webster
Main Entry: fu·tile
Pronunciation: 'fyü-t&l, 'fyü-"tIl
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle French or Latin; Middle French, from Latin futilis brittle, pointless, probably from fu- (akin to fundere to pour) -- more at FOUND
1 : serving no useful purpose : completely ineffective <efforts to convince him were futile>
2 : occupied with trifles : FRIVOLOUS
synonyms FUTILE, VAIN, FRUITLESS mean producing no result. <efforts to have Parnell wear a descent shirt proved FUTILE>.

Sitting is fine if it's a Glad but not in a TG. I like the slide in standups in the old Apaches' best. If you want to sit or lay around buy a Sea Ray, this is a performance boat.

I think that is exactly why people are comparing the two boats. If this particular Cig didn't have the Silver/Purple accents, they would have very little resemblance.

The new 39 is a great combination of old style and new style. You can see the flavor of the 38 Gun all over it. She got a great makeover.

Sea Ray my azz... You take your tripled 1400hp's Apache 47 in 20 foot waves as much as you want, it's your rig. Ohh... that's not what you have excuse me then.

Step up the plate and show us the back seat in your performance rig and where you go with the throttles to the pin and your hair on fire.

Don't tell me what I like to do with my rig.

I agree. Very premo rig. :drink:
Brandon How does your backseat compare with primal's? That was a little ahead of it's time when I ordered it in 1999. Thank you Scott Smith! Just curious about the differences. NK

I wanted to do it similar to Curt's originally. I was going to lose the storage area under the seat, and have to rewire some stuff though. I really like the dropout option. Every passenger I have had ride in the back has raved about the upgrade. I am 100% positive they would have the same positive opinion if I had gone with the dropouts.
