Trust me.. you need a jacket that fits correctly!! LIfeline or SRP in open boats......they save lives. If you are going to get serious about P class you need to make the safety investments. I know some of us have jackets that you could borrow but we need some size estimates, chest size, height weight, etc..

Open cockpit boat? If so look at the one piece torso suit. Sitdown or standup, no jacket is more comfortable or provides more protection. Enclosed cockpit, then the airvest or capsule suit is best.

Brett, I hear you...I am trying to get new, but because of the time constraints, I'm looking for a safety net...

I am 5'11", 200 lbs, 44 chest, and extraordinarily good looking I might add......

are you set up with dual controls?? You might want to have somebody that has raced in the boat with you for the first few... it really makes a difference. I am sure that a few guys here on the forum would volunteer. As for the life vest, borrow one for now and order one tomorrow for the rest of the season. Ben with SRP will hook you up or call LIfeline. I love my lifeline and it probably saved my life in Marathon. Dont scrimp on safety gear, period!!!

I am planning on setting up a second set of throttles/switches on the boat for future races, actually, boat was set up with switches and "Oh $hit" bar in the center position from factory; unfortunately no drop in bolster........... this time around driver needs to throttle......I will consider letting someone else drive and throttle for this first race, and I'll just hold on and scream...........obviously has to be someone that has his own gear...........
