Campion 910?
Have someone who wants to trade in a 2001 Campion 910 with twin 496HO's. Other than it looks nice on the Boattrader photos and is made in Canada,I know nothing about the brand. Will I be stuck with it?Pros and cons, anyone? Robert

Robert - You have mail.

Re: Campion 910?
Campion makes a fairly decent boat quality wise. Lots of creature comforts, decent speed and handling for the price. Your problem will probably be moving a non known name brand boat.

Re: Campion 910?
I have to agree with Airpacker. I have seen them around and they are pretty nice. But, i'm afraid you would get stuck with it. They are made in B.C...a long way from Alabama. I know of a dealer in N.Y. that still has a new-leftover 2001..brand new, can't give it away!

Re: Campion 910?
The marina i keep my boat was a dealer. They had 2 910's and couldn't move either of them (since 2001). They just blew one out for 55k to get rid of it. They originally wanted 110k. They still have the other one.

Re: Campion 910?
Here is the site. The one they have left is the stripped model without steering, and has the 350's.

Re: Campion 910?
Thanks. Don't have much interest in small blocks in a 30' boat though!
|
Re: Campion 910?
they used it as the demo, and said it ran upper 60's to 70 depending on the conditions.
|
Re: Campion 910?
Not bad for small block's I guess. My 24' with twin small blocks isn't near that fast.

Re: Campion 910?
The one I am working with is nicely equipped, search on Boattrader for 01 Campion, sorry I don't know how to post the link.

Re: Campion 910?
I love mine, even after 4 yrs of ownership. The main problem is Campion is really known for family boats, not performance boats, even tho their 910 and 800 received good reviews in HotBoat and Powerboat. I think most Performance boaters ego's dictate that they have a name brand boat that builds just performance boats, not a builder who also builds family runaboats and fishing boats.
You need to find a buyer who likes to have something different at the dock, but still wants style, features and performance. Someone like me, and there are plently of others like me out there. If you get her for a good price, no reason you can't flip it. Campion has been in business for close to 30yrs now, and is Canada's largest boat builder, so its not like its a boat that you can't get parts or support for. I personally don't put Campion in Formula's class, but it more than holds its own against Baja, Powerquest, or Velocity for quality, features and bang for the buck. |

That was a rare Scorpion edition model, very cool boat equiped with the scorpion engines. I actually tried to order mine with Scorpions when I ordered it in 2000 and the engine buyer for Campion had no idea what I was talking about, so I ended up just getting an HP500. Then a year later they come out with the Scorpion edition, the only model I would rather have than mine. |
Re: Campion 910?
It's a splash of a Velocity, of course it's a fast boat

Re: Campion 910?
It says it has an enclosed marine head, is that correct? Does this boat have it's own enclosed head like a 31 sonic?

No, this boat does not have anywhere near the room down below a 31 sonic has. It has plenty of head room while sitting, but you can't stand up below, unless you're well under 5' tall. It does have as much cockpit room as a 31 sonic and plenty of freeboard, but a smaller boat than the 31 sonic for sure. |
Re: Campion 910?
Impossible to sell. I do remember talking to a "crack pipe smoker" in VA that told me he paid $200k for it and wanted $160k on trade.
I told him he should think about REHAB! :D :D |
Re: Campion 910?
Thanks!! Thought I had looked at every small twin with an enclosed head! It's tough to get an enclosed head without going to a 35 on up.

Re: Campion 910?
Chase910 does have a nice boat that runs great. I was suprised a 30' ran so well with a single. I have pictures on my site of his boat www.cocktail-cove.com

Re: Campion 910?
The 910 got strong reviews on ride and handling that I remember. Lots of round, curved styling cues ala Baja. Mr. V is most likely correct about the bottom's origin, I've examined one closely. Decent package that arrived on the front end of a perf boat sales slump. In a business sense, you would have to protect yourself very well on how much money you put in it.

That is an older model on your site than mine. |
