Fairing fabricator in Chicago area?
 

I'd like to replace the windshield on my 35 Mistress with an aluminum fairing, does anyone know of a place around the Chicago area that can fabricate one using the windshield as a template? I can TIG weld and probably do it myself, but I just don't have the time considering some other projects I'm doing this winter.

Thanks for the reply Tommy. Did you get that 40' you were looking at?

I was thinking about trading up to a TG but I've got the Mistress running good with the new 540's, tranny's and rebuilt drives so I figured I'd keep it for awhile and not have to deal with a boat payment. I'm going to focus on updating it cosmetically this winter with a new dash and controls, along with new, updated cockpit upholstery to match the new sunpad upholstery I did last winter.

I was able to get 70 mph out of it with 21p Mirages at 5600 rpm, which are at least 4 or 6 inches undersized. With 25's I should get upper-middle 70's, but with a much better cruise speed. That's fast enough for me for now with the typical crew along (19 month old daughter, etc).

Email or IM me your fiberglass guys and I'll give them a call. It would be even better if they were in the NW Indiana or SW Michigan area, considering my boat is stored in New Buffalo, MI.
